Inspired by Broadway’s musical “Hamilton,” students in my ancient world history class were challenged to write lyrics for an “Ode” to the ancient Greeks or a “Battle” between the Greeks and the Persians. This video reflects the latter and brings the significance of the Greco-Persian wars to life with lyrics and music, both of which were created by these students. The student in the blue sweatshirt represents the Persian perspective, while the student in the red sweatshirt represents the Greek perspective. As our students know, the study of history must take perspective/point of view into consideration. Enjoy!
